how do you crackers feel about placing
a little collumn of those google ads down
on the bottom right there? i don't know if
they actually generate any pocket change
but it might draw some more traffic. I for one
enjoy the (two) comments from strangers.

The ads won't draw traffic. You have to pay to place ads on other pages to draw traffic.

I also doubt they would draw significant cash, given the little web counter I placed on the right column. 60ish unique hits means not that many ads would be served and even far fewer click throughs (if any). Check the pay rates though. Might pull 20 bucks a year just on random blogger types stumbling on the page.

$20 a yr. would be nice. Is there any way to have the counter not log us? I suspect 5/6ths of those hits are us.

They aren't. The counter is set only to record unique IP hits, not every hit. Of course, if one of our IP addresses isn't constant, then they might be mostly ours anyways.

I know nothing about the cost/benefit breakdown of the Google ads, but I do know that it's creepy as hell when the ones on Gmail relate to the body of your message. However, if they are free to run, then I don't see any problem with it. Maybe we can "find great deals on by the dog on ebay.uk."

I'm fairly sure my IP isn't constant, I'm bouncing off of my neighbor's and the school's signals intermittinly throughout the day. I would love to be found through ebay.uk's great deals. I'll look into them unless one of you crackers get to it first. what's spatula up to?
